Being "no-thing" in this context means to have given up one's egocentric identity that limits her. Therefore, when one becomes "no-thing", one can become "every-thing" [that is -- i.e., that exists]. It is implying that one embraces an inclusive identity that expands and includes everything.

For example, if one chooses to see herself as a conglomerate of atoms and molecules that has existed since the beginning of the Universe and will continue to exist even after the specific form that she has taken in this particular time and space ceases to be will no longer think of herself in terms of "death and birth".

...It's a very metaphysical understanding of the Self and Reality -- all the religions in their mystical core speak of this when speaking about the nature of Reality.
