Cecily had a bright smile on her face as she held Jim's hand on the walk from the ball to her hut. It all seemed new, the night, the stars, the path that she had so often trod before, and she wished she could describe the moment in her diary just as it felt, but she felt... wordless. "I'm glad you're happy," he says, and they've gotten so close lately that he isn't shy to step into her hut with her. He almost feels like he belongs there. "I hope you didn't want to stay any longer at the ball. I thought we might like some time alone."

Cecily closed the door behind him. "What else is there to do at a ball but dance with a man you adore?" She paused to kiss him on the cheek, her own cheeks a little flush, "Having done that, I believe I was quite ready to leave."

"It was nice dancing with you," says Jim, taking her hands and pulling her closer. "There's not a lot of ways that people are allowed to touch each other all over in public like that."

Cecily willingly let herself be pulled to him, and she felt her heartbeat begin to accelerate. She could not remember a time when Jim had done such a thing to her, and she felt very glad that he was holding her in such a loving fashion. "Well, they could, but I find that many people look down on such activities."
