Robin headed for the infirmary with mixed feelings. He was pretty sure he knew what this was about, considering their last conversation and Shadow's recent choices in reading material. He wasn't sure how helpful he was feeling, since Shadow had made it clear he was not a team player. But he would at least show up.

Upon locating Shadow, the Boy Wonder crossed his arms and leaned against the doorway. "Suddenly I'm very popular," he remarked dryly.

"You're useful," he stated without looking away from his work, as he worked at unscrewing a piece of the machine. "I assume you know what I want."

"Mmm," Robin replied in neutral agreement to both statements. "I've used my incomparable detective skills to deduce you'd like me to build you a battery for your x-ray contraption," he said with mild snark. "I assume you've figured out how to take that thing apart and put it back together again without breaking it."

"If I hadn't, I wouldn't be doing this," Shadow replied. He set the screwdriver down and carefully removed the screw the rest of the way by hand, placing it in a bowl he'd grabbed from the kitchen, then started on another. "It would need to be fairly high-capacity."
