Sokka was in and out of consciousness for several reasons.
One was the bumpy ride on Harper's shoulder putting pressure on his beaten chest, taking the air from his lungs. Another was the bloodloss, making him lightheaded and dizzy. The third...
It was so much easier when everything went black.
Carried all the way up to the wall, through the bands of people waiting to attack and barely aware of his own nose, much less the people around him, Sokka is carried into the building and through the hallways toward the infirmary. The tables are, thankfully, empty, though the room is not. Simon is gone - another injured that required immediate attention, and besides... this was the kind of healing that would need 'bending to soothe properly.
So it's a good thing Katara's there to see Harper carrying her brother, beaten and bloody on his shoulder.
