Padme is in Room 202, knitting. Or, as they called it on her world, 'needle weaving'. Her mother would laugh to see her like this. She had never been the domestic type ( Read more... )

Anakin walks into room 202. He's had another shift out on patrol...the drudgery is, well, getting to be old. I mean...he's not tracking down Dooku and the Separatist, he's just walking in circles, waiting for things to happen. That's no fun!

Anyhow...he walks in and notices Padme...doing something with needles and yarn. Something that he has never really had to observe, at least that he can recall. So, he walks over to Padme and puts an arm around her. "Hello, Padme. What're you doing?"

Oh, yes. And there's a kiss on the cheek, since she's looking at what she's knitting.

Anakin looks curious. "Oh? To see you knitting?" A smile. "I'm a bit surprised, but I'm pleasantly surprised." And a kiss on the cheek.

"I was never...the domestic one. That was my sister." She grins.

Anakin grins. "It doesn't seem to have missed you entirely. You cook very well, too."

"My mother would be happy to hear you say that. I used to burn far more meals than we actually ate."

Anakin laughs. "You? Burn meals?" The thought is...not what he's used to.

She laughs too. "Well, I was very young. Just imagine the Queen of Naboo burning meals."

It's quite funny, actually. But she had to go home sometimes just to be Padme for a while.

Anakin is snickering a bit at that...especially when he thinks of that big headdress and so forth being at a stove. What a sight that would be!

Not in the actual dresses, silly! That's a fire hazard!

"I remember one time, I made a cake so flat..." she gestures with her hands pressed together.

She loves to make him laugh.

Anakin keeps snickering/laughing/smiling. "Try making flatbreads sometime?"

I'm sure they're available from somewhere in the Galaxy.

"My mother made that same joke. But, as you can see...I did get better." She smiles brightly as he laughs.
