Here's a face few people see anymore -- and really, Ed's seen better days. Not even bothing to braid his hair anymore, the poor little alchemist seems to be wallowing in despair

Zuko was off being leader-y still and Mel, new mommy of two very adorable, very needy girls, had passed out a few hours ago. Luckily, Sokka was there! TA-DA!
...Well, not that exciting. But he was there to move her to her bedroom and take over on baby-watch. It's remarkably easy. Sokka's rocking the bassinet gently with a foot, flopped on one of their chairs with his sketchpad in his lap, chewing on a pencil as he considers.
One of these days, Sokka is going to remember some of those idle thoughts he has - like go hang out with Ed to make him feel better.
He remembers now, though! And is looking up, foot pausing on the bassinet as he sits up a little. "Hey. Uh, Zuko's not here and Mel's asleep... did you need something?"
Ed shakes his head, and then -- babies! ZOMG BABIES!
"I was just--" he smiles, just a little now, "wanting to see the babies, drop some stuff off. Y' know, things they'll need."
Like clothes, blankets, some soft, alchemically cleaned terry-cloth dolls that look like like tretched tube-sock kitties... You know. All the stuff babies need!
And at some point in which Sokka hasn't shifted her to the bedroom, Mom's there in the nursery, curled up in a comfy chair she's dragged over to the cribs.
And all three of them are sound asleep. Anyone could walk in to them, honestly.
Zuko loves her anyway, snoring or not. Ed just sort of looks at her funny. "Uh."
He rubs his face and then says, "I brought some things-- for the babies. I was busy... Uhm." He tilts his head and says, "I was-- thinking that you might-- uhm-- need them."

That's the noise she makes when she's interrupted - and she sleeps lightly - snorting on air and pulling herself up to sit.
"Oh, hey. Hi. Sorry. Must have dropped off."
