Albrecht's in 202, waiting for his patrol shift to come up. Which would be...about three or four hours from now.

Sigh.

So he's just sitting there, trying to read a magazine (chinese is one of the few major languages he has trouble with).

Bug him?

"I want to talk to you."

In the doorway, one very conflicted looking elf boy is standing with crossed arms and an expression struggling between murderous and sheepish.

[kokiriboy]

"Why doesn't it work? Why can't I just go out there and do something useful instead of sitting around all day waiting to go home?"

[wolfbitharder]

"Because you'll get killed. Those things out there may be easy on their own, but just killing them one at a time won't help anyone, and fighting swarms of them on your own is just going to get you killed. Not helpful to anyone."

[kokiriboy]

"So what?" Link blurts, and then pales.

[wolfbitharder]

"Fine then. You go out and die, if you want. You'll be such a hero."

[kokiriboy]

"Stop saying that."

[wolfbitharder]

"Then stop arguing with me and just learn to accept that you can't just do things by yourself anymore."

[kokiriboy]

"I don't even know why I bothered." Link murmurs, pressing the heel of his hand against his eye. He sighs and looks up.

"We should talk about this later. I've got to get going and I'm sorry I disturbed you."

[wolfbitharder]

"Fine, kid. Whatever." He barely even looks up from his magazine as he says that and waves the kid off.

[kokiriboy]

Link wraps his arms around himself and heads for the door.

"...I almost forgot," he stops just before the door "Thank you...for checking to see if I was all right. That was really nice of you."

Then he's out.

Albrecht looks up from his magazine at that. He doesn't say anything as link leaves.
