Josh had been around. Really, he had. But there was a time and place for things, and some things he knew he couldn't interfere with. He lived, he meditated, he blessed rooms and water, he made wine, he meditated more. For some of the time, he'd been in a state of nirvana, which had greatly unnerved Biff, since he'd been an invisible disembodied ( Read more... )

Johnny's been trying to make a point to be out in the common room more often. Try to make some attempts at being social. Anyway, his room gets mighty boring after a while. Especially if he gets too focused on problems from his world. Like something like good vs. evil matters.

He glanced up and noticed the unfamiliar man in the room.

"You ever heard about the shelf life of those things?" He asked casually.

(ooc: I live in slowtime, it's all good.)

Johnny paused at that. He knew there was evil. He had met it. Shook the bastard's hand.

And saw Armageddon.

"I have to. I know none of us belong here really. I need to stop whatever's happening here from happening there."

He then asked, "You know why we are here? Why people keep showing up? Or is that more of these so-called complications?"

"Real complications. There were...conditions for my arrival here. I lost things...memories. Going from being a multiversal presence with omniscience, omnipotence, omnibenevolence, and omnipresence to being mortal again--relatively--and not in the normal being-born kind of way, isn't easy.

Before I came, I knew everything, including that I'd forget. I decided to come anyway--my Father sent me.

And so now I've forgotten."

Johnny peered back at him curiously.

"Then why do it?"

"Because I can do good."

What other reason was there?

Johnny couldn't really argue with that. Something he tried to do himself.

He couldn't help bitterly remarking, "Least you had a choice in the matter. Rest of us aren't so lucky."

"I know. It sucks." Josh frowned. "I didn't have a choice in some things, too. I know how you feel."

"Meant a choice about coming here. I know about the other," he quietly said.

Johnny gave a bitter laugh, "Gotta admit, six year coma doesn't seem so bad now."

"It wasn't as bad as that Mel Gibson movie made it out to be," Josh said lightly, "but the nails hurt pretty bad and the crown chafed like crazy."

Johnny shook his head, "Never watched it. Figured I wasn't missing much."

He added with slight levity, "Yeah, but at least I was just...really sleeping. I don't recommend crashing your car into an 18-wheeler truck either. That's no picnic."

"Ouch," Josh said with a great deal of sympathy.

"Bigtime ouch," Johnny agreed.

He then thought of something, "Was just thinking if we can ever leave here and go back to our worlds... I might tell people some things of here, but not this. They have their belief, proof's not going to make much difference, except to people who would exploit it." Like Purdy, and definitely like Stillson.
