Imagine, if you will.

The old-time westerns, with the woman and the triangle, standing outside yelling "COME AND GET IT!"

Well--Faye's not doing that.

But the smell of coffee is doing that for her!

The smell of coffee lures the teenager out from his room! No funny uniform and big ass sword today, just more casual clothing, more ripped jeans and t-shirts. He comes not for the coffee, but what it symbolizes.

...well, maybe he's curious to try coffee again, but still.

"Oi," he calls out as he enters, in some odd way of greeting. "At it again?"

She leans out of the kitchen, grinning. "Of course. What else is a barista to do?"

She eyes the outfit. "Normal clothes today, I see."

"Guy's gotta wash his clothes sometime. Besides, the uniform was startin' to stink."

And the sword is bulky in small hallways.

"Got anything good I can drink?"

"Coffee. Water. I found some tea."

She ticks the choices off her fingers as she says them.

"And I'm glad you thought of your personal hygiene, for everyone else's sake."

Heartbroken Jims go for any stimulant they can find.

Especially when they're hungover.

Faye's in the kitchen, humming and merry and probably too much for Jim to stand. She smiles as he comes in, but gently, as she sees his expression.

"Hey. Coffee?"

Way too much. Happy people suck.

"Yeah."

It's possible he could look surlier, but then things might explode.

She pours him a mug, all cheeriness gone, replaced with concern.

"You okay? You want to talk about it?" She hands him the mug and pushes the creamer and sugar closer.

He's seen a lot of death, but two are on his mind right now. There's no good in confessing and nobody to confess to. There's work to be done, instead.

Which is why he's tired right now, and looking for something to wake him up. He looks in. Yes, that's coffee he smells.

"Hey, Krauser," she says, waving. "I've made some coffee, do you want some?"

"Sure." He looks around at the kitchen, where people are sliding in and out, obtaining coffee, visiting, chatting, and the like. "It's gotten busy here."

He's starting to like it.

"Sugar? Creamer?" She's pouring him a mug now, and smiling.

"Haven't seen you lately. Been okay?"

"Mhmm, Coffee...."

And there is a Daddy, hovering.

"! Mushroom Daddy! How have you been?" Faye asks, pouring him some coffee and offering the mug to him.

He takes the mug and uses it to warm his hands, inhaling the scent.

"Mhmm. Just, y'know, the usual."

She nods. "Life's been good, then. Glad to hear it." She smiles.

Claire is there! Not doing a lot. She's helping with the mug thing! Which is actually a relatively simple job, since the mugs more or less hand themselves out.

"Claire!" Faye says happily. "Have you talked to your brother yet? That is one heavy bed." Faye makes the D: face.

Claire sighs, shaking her head. "I stopped by his room earlier, but he wasn't there. I'll find him, though!" Perhaps she should've chosen a room with a less heavy bed.

But she really liked that bed.
