Mal's been hearing about this quest for awhile. He's good with going because it'll keep him busy. He NEEDED to do something. It would keep him sane and if it brought about any kind of good for the people here, that was a plus.

His holster is around his waist filled with his pistols. This is all he needs, he's decided.

He walks outside and nods a greeting to those gathered. "Got room for one more? Need out."

Mal gives Inara a half smile. "Just couldn't stay away?"

Inara shrugs gracefully and returns the smile. "Well someone has to remind you to do things like be careful, don't get shot or kidnapped. I don't think any of my wiles or connections will be terribly effective here. No particularly cares what a successful companion I was. In fact I usually have to explain it to them."

Mal tilts his head slightly and eyes Inara. "Well since you said please..."

Inara smirks. "I appreciate it." She bites her bottom lip lightly. "And hurry back. I'll be wiating for you." The last is said in a slightly lower tone.

That's not all he needs. He needs a flask of clean water, and a - is that a primitive ether-communication device? - and a sandiwich with the very very last of the fresh foods in there: someone's been sitting on a personal refridgerator - and a sudden hug from a mechanic.

"You take care now, y'hear? We'll have those part for the engine afore you can blink. Go kick some holy ass, Cap'n."

Mal gives Kaylee a small smile. "Got no doubt it will."

He's really needed to hear from someone that a ship was being worked on. Kaylee was the best person he could hear it from.
