"Mmmm." The book is tilted, just slightly. The Chinese characters won't be at all intelligible to the other redhead, but the detailed illustration beneath it should do nicely.

The book is held open so he can see the well-detailed illustration.

"Yeah, but he tries to divorce her the next day when her scar reappears."

The scar on her face, big and ugly and covering her temple.

But the redhead on the steps looks up at Harper with her big ol' ugly scar-- and smiles.

For the first time in weeks, she's smiling at him.

Eh, he'll figure it out. How upset can she be when the pain's actually gone?

It's not the brightest smile ever she's giving him, though. But at least it's not a scowl either! More like a... frustrated glance.
