"I'd be surprised if you were. Doubt there's any cell towers functioning anywhere near here. No, I'm referring to your Doctor friend's warning. Didn't you hear? You're off limits to me."
"No signal yet?" the Doctor asked, stepping inside with a chipped mug of tea, "Should only go out in the case of a black hole or, quite possibly, a supernova. Considering both of those could be out underneath those clouds...who knows."
He took a sip and sat down in one of the chairs near to her.
"Completely different universe," the Doctor agreed. He took another sip of his tea and tried to force an expression to his face that wasn't completley resigned and defeated. I promised your Mum I'd keep you safe.
"We will," he promised with a bit of a smile, "Show up right after the last time she saw us. Knowing your Mum, she'll start complaining that we hadn't called first."
"Anytime I'm gone more than five minutes - just enough time for something totally useless to have occurred to her, something she's just dying to tell me."

Remembering the Doctor's warning, he stops halfway into the room, puts his hands up, and just say, "'S all right; I'll come back later."

Rose looks at him blankly, completely oblivious to any warnings the Doctor might have given.
"Oh, no, you don't have to -- I wasn't making a private call or anything. It doesn't work." she says, assuming that's what he'd meant.

There is more blank staring, with perhaps the slightest hint of suspicion.
"Is there some reason you needed a warning?"

She shrugs, and forces a little smile.
"Doesn't matter. Not really. Mum must be going out of her head, but when we get the TARDIS back we can just go back where we left off, right?"
