HCL is hydrochloric acid: a chemical of sorts. Pretty self-explanatory with the acid.

Chemistry. We both have that class and we had to finish an experiment. And before you ask what it is, chemistry is basically messing with chemicals.[And some other things you won't understand until you're older]

It's not pointless. In this time we often research about animals and use dead carcasses to further our understanding of their structure. It gives us insight on how the animal moves, how the animal functions, and other tidbits about it.

Eating the carcass wouldn't be bad...if it hadn't already rotted. And all the meat has to come off, not just the large chunks of it that are edible. This is used on every animal carcass, not just a given few.
