Why do you think America is your colony?

You- older-you, I should say, you're only involved in all this by chance- is the British Empire. Older-you gets Imperial Nation Dick Syndrome, and America decides to have a revolution despite being treated pretty well compared to most of Africa, because his people being second class citizens just didn't sit well with him.
