The Shame of it

Aug 16, 2010 01:03

I was thinking, prompted by a conversation on my LJ about other things, about things I like, but am a wee bit embarrassed to like. And I thought I'd share a few and see if anyone else feels the love... and the shame.

I cringe at "I get soo-ooo excited viewing her anatomy" yet I can't not listen to that song when it's on the radio. It's infectious.

your "She's a bad Mama Jama" is my "You Sexy Thang." I hate that I like it, lolol.

It must be a Delaware County thing, like it was played too much on 17 back in the uhf days, programming us all to like it no matter how terrible the rest of the world insists it is.

It's not on DVD, but I do own it on VHS (and now have no way to play it, actually)

Ah, it's called, "The Pirate Movie". Yep, I remember this one. It was geared towards the pre-tweens (me) and I remember I was suppose to think that boy was cute. (Gee, I can't remember his name.) Anyhoo, all I remember is that his blond curly hair gave me the creeps for some reason and it still does.

Christopher Atkins fresh of his rise to fame in "Island of The Blue Lagoon" with Brooke Shields. This movie kind of stopped that rise in its tracks.

I had a thing for curly hair. I had the biggest crush on William Katt. So their ploys worked on me. Then I saw it again and he's just... obnoxious.

My sister and I loved the pirate movie too. I moved on to grease 2 and also watched it daily. Sadly my sister moved on to better things. :)

These two seem paired up for me as well. It was slim pickins for little girls in the eighties. They didn't market to us as hard as they do to the tweens today.

wow, The Pirate Movie is a spectacular piece of crap, LOL. But yeah, we watched (and made fun of) Grease 2 as well. I was always annoyed that the Pink Ladies set up that ridiculously elaborate song for the talent show, like high schoolers could do that. But I always wanted that martini dress, HAHA. and I love how in Cool Rider the movie just lets her disappear into the background, still singing quietly, like it's saying, "ok moving on!"

I know. She just keeps spinning off into the distance, spelling the words in song. Like she did that all the way home.
