Where exactly have I been lately?

Nowhere special. I feel like, every time I post since the summer, I'm apologizing for not posting or not writing fic. This has just been a strange and busy year. First, I've been spending more time at Uncle MIke's, just cooking or doing laundry, reorganizing things or just hanging. It's one of my resolutions, just trying to take the load off him ( Read more... )

So sorry for the loss of your aunt. My condolences.

Good to hear that singing is going so well though! It is such a load off one's mind to have a steady gig, no matter your profession.

Thank you for the SecretChlex mention! I'm hopeful that as more people hear about the community, our events will grow. From the pieces that I've seen so far, I am very excited to start publishing!

As for fics...*keeps patiently waiting*. :)

I'm hoping to update two this week to keep people from waiting much longer.

I can't wait to finish catching up after my vacay (which was suspiciously un-vacationy) so I can read all the secret chlex goodies!

And thanks for the condolences. As much time as everything took, I'm glad I was able to try to do right by her.

You are doing the right thing in helping to take care of your family--it sounds like your uncle definitely needs you.

I'm sorry about your aunt's passing and I am with you on wishing to avoid political ranting/arguments. Nothing gets resolved with people screaming at each other back and forth.

And congrats on all of your gigs :):)

Thanks. It's good to feel secure in my job, considering what it is.

I really don't spend all my time with my uncle (or we'd drive each other crazy), but I try to be there every day for something, even if it's just sorting his mail. I should definitely be able to find more time to write if I just plan my day better.

As for Aunt Monica, I'm still behind on replying to her tweeps, but I hope I made enough posts to give them closure.

I can't wait until you're in the Philly area and East Coast again to say hey :P

Second, keep your boundaries too. You know we both know how hard it is to live for fam or always sublimate you too.

Third, FIFTY SHADES AS HORROR TRAILER FTW.

LOL. If I ever get time, I will make that vid! Fic first, though.

Ugh! I'm so bummed I didn't get to see you guys in Philly. I pretty much only saw my family. There was some fun to be had (we had a game night), but there was a somber air everywhere. Next visit, no funeral! I decree it!

Sorry about your aunt, she sounds like a fascinating character, but probably not the easiest of person to live with, lol. I'm sure her Twitter followers are very grateful that you took the time to let them know what was happening. It would be tragic if someone that many people brought into their lives just vanished with no word.

I hadn't realized your Uncle Mike's cancer was back, I thought it was in remission. So sorry to hear that. Congrats about the regular gigs and I absolutely understand where you are coming from about going back to Laguna Beach. You've become part of the charm and atmosphere. You're not silly in thinking you will be missed but you also shouldn't beat yourself up for not being there often. Hey, absence makes the heart grow fonder. ;)

I often think of her and my other aunt as Big and Little Edie from Grey Gardens. Just two women who decided to hide from the world. I was surprised when she got into Twitter. I think that was her way to put on another identity and put herself out there when she felt unequal to the outside world.

His cancer was never in remission, but it was close to that as his PSA was so low for the last year. He's stage 4, so statistics aren't on our side as far as it going away. I did hear of one guy who did achieve remission in stage 4 and we've been looking into him (his treatment involved baking soda and molasses, but he also was getting traditional testosterone suppression, too. And no one can say for sure which worked or for how long). But Uncle Mike is a model patient. He's made a huge lifestyle change and if anyone can keep fighting this back, it's him.
