The Schro Con

Jul 07, 2005 07:35

So city_glitter, the human of Schro, the cat that was supposedly set on fire, has confessed that the whole thing was a set up, an experiment. I've just read a news report about the scary chaos on the London Underground this morning. I find I'm thinking of all the folks I know in London, and that includes you. I'm hoping you're OK. Just wanted to say something.

*hugs*

I'm fine. Thanks for being concerned, Mae. I, of course, wrote about it in my LJ. Only now did I find out that they were terror attacks. Scary, very scary.

It was an amazing story, and I feel she failed in every way. People may be basically good, and it's my experience that they are, but they absolutely hate being cheated, their kindness exploited, and they will be very wary in the future. The second thing, was it necessary to invent a story of human cruelty? I think if you're making a story then why did others have to be involved. It would never occur to most people to burn a cat, now just by talking about it, someone may actually do it...
She should have simply got hold of Steven Pinker's "how the Brain Works" and read the relevant passages to her father.
None the less thank you for bringing the story to my attention, naive as I am I didn't think people might be lying on their ljs!

I'm fine, Perceval. Last I heard, there was a power failure on the tube. That's why I went shopping. It's only now that I found out that it was a terrorist attack and that many people have been injured and killed. I don't think I would have enjoyed shopping, had I known that.
