Butterfly, surprisingly, could cover more ground as a cat. In that form, at least, smells were more prevalent. He was no dog, of course, but he could get by. Whiskers twitching, bell jangling he raced down the halls trying to catch the scent of blood. Down the stairs to the next level, trying again. He'd gone towards the lobby, the lower end of numbers when he smelled him, at last.

Wilderness, blood. Lots of blood. The little black cat pounced towards the doorway, scratching at it once, twice, before realizing that the door was firmly closed.

The change back was quickly accomplished, unlike with other shapeshifting species, at least, and Butterfly was in that half form once more, hand on the doorknob. He could still smell the blood, and hear the wet coughing, though he wasn't sure if that cane from the blackberry-like object that traveled with him or not.

"Hello? Hey! Can you hear me?" he tried the doorknob, sighing in relief to find it open, shouldering his way inside.

Mika sprinted down the halls like her tail was on fire, her new phone to her ear as she kept Kuronue talking and Sakura on the other line. Three flights of stairs was murder on her knees between the long dashes across the floors, but she kept going even though she just wanted to collapse in a heap. The only thing she was really praying for was that she wouldn't have to run back up the stairs to check the upper floors.

It wasn't until she started down the first floor hallway that the smell slammed her between the eyes and made her want to puke. Wish granted, it seemed, and she covered her mouth and nose with her hand as she ran down the hallway. Finding Butterfly was a bit of a surprise, and she shifted the line back to Sakura, her voice muffled with a rising edge of anxiety. That much blood was triggering her panic instincts, and that was the last thing she needed.

"Sakura! Room 101, and hurry! Bandages just aren't going to cut it, he said he had a run-in with bamboo spikes, I don't think they were poisoned, just...shit, I can't ( ... )

“umh… tapin’ the what now?” His voice slurred over his teeth like a drunks which should have amused him but he was too tired to so much as lift his head from the puddle. Slowly drowning him, until he realized that it was in his mouth, constantly, and swallowing against it or coughing wasn’t accounting for much. He’d told one of the voices that he hadn’t yet looked down, but he could feel things grating and tearing further when he moved, slick suction-squelch when he breathed in too deeply, so he had a fair assessment of what the hell was going on. Dying took awhile for demons, and he didn’t particularly want to find out what’d happen or where he’d go when that happened. He didn’t have a gold coin. Fuck ( ... )

"Only have three." he retorted as he swaggered closer, letting out a low whistle. That tail lashed in a quiet form of distress that he wouldn't let show in his eyes. The bat was more badly hurt than he had imagined from the little screen, and the smell of that blood was overwhelming.

He suppressed the urge to shudder, moving forward.

"You're going to be alright, other's are on their way as we speak--" Well, speak of the devil, there was one on the way. Mika, the wolf girl, if he recalled correctly, and she didn't look to be having an easy time of the blood stench herself. She asked about taping up the room and he nodded curtly, making his way towards the downed demon.

"Yeah, tape it up. We have no idea what else might be in this room." he sighed, glancing to the front door then back to Kuronue, snapping his fingers lightly.

"Still with us?" he asked softly, trying not to curl his lip at the stench of the blood, or the look of that gore.

"Medic's on her way, just like she said. Just focus on one of us for a little longer."
