Aaron was content to let him wander the house. It was a fairly basic setup, and the livingroom and kitchen were easily accessible to one another. He moved into the latter, peering at their supplies, shaky from what he had seen outside.

...Better not to think of it.

"Um! Ah...do you want any tea or hot chocolate?" he asked softly, peeping around the corner, watching Itachi for a moment curiously.

Itachi's refusal was polite, a gentle shake of his head, and a softly uttered, "I would rather not, thank you."

Hands upon the windowsill, he gazed outward thoughtfully. In all likelihood the hallway without was not safe for passage at the moment, but the outer wall of the apartment building itself looked to be without opposition or obstruction. Needing only to climb two floors up, as well, it would probably be the better escape for him, for now.

He tried the catches on the window frame first, which were stiff from lack of use. With a little extra twisting they soon came unlocked, allowing for Itachi to push open the window, and permitting a soft breeze to filter into the room.

"Alright." At least he had the manners to offer. Still, instead of ducking back into the kitchen, he eyed the shinobi at the windows, who seemed busy playing with the latches to open it.

He didn't like the idea, but wasn't about to go telling him that. Instead, he waited, tilting his head at the first telltale breeze that fluttered around the room, removing some of the stuffy air with it. Aaron sighed, moving closer. Perhaps...it wouldn't be so bad with the window open...now and then, especially with how warm is was getting, slowly.

"Summer's here." he murmured after a moment, peering out the window from where he stood.

"So it is." Itachi poked his head out the window, glancing down toward the ground, and then up toward the other apartments, before he looked back over his shoulder at the blond. Aaron was closer now, having forsaken his quest in the kitchen, not that Itachi saw a problem with it or minded.

He ducked his head back in and stood straight. "You'll be safe here on your own, won't you?" he inquired. "Until your companions return, I mean."

"Well...yeah. I mean, I think so..." Aaron wasn't sure he liked the way Itachi was speaking at he moment, or the way he eyed the window. Surely he wasn't thinking about--

No, of course not.

"Should be fine, Itachi...sir." he murmured quietly. "Be safe as well, alright?"

A nod, and Itachi was turning back toward the window, slowly climbing out. Hoisting himself upward upon the ledge first, and then ducking under the windowpane and outside, his black and red Akatsuki cloak fluttering in the breeze. He didn't look concerned with being four stories up from the ground.

He didn't look like one of those people ready to end it all, either... of course, Aaron didn't know him, and Aaron didn't know better. It was a shame Itachi didn't stop to think of explaining his actions to the boy...

"I should be leaving," he said to Aaron, loudly enough to be heard within the apartment where the boy remained.

Aaron had been about to call out a goodbye, intent on turning and heading back for the kitchen when the fluttering of that cloak caught his eye. Intrigued, he whirled back around...just in time to see the elder man slipping out of the window and disappearing.

"ITACHI?!" he shrieked, moving to the window, peering out...and gawking.

He was standing on the wall, horizontal. Like some sort of magic!

"Wh-what...?"

Ah, yes... he's not from my world, Itachi reminded himself, staring at the boy now leaning out the window and staring wide-eyed back at him.

He exhaled, sighing. "Where I come from, Aaron-san, shinobi are taught to use their chakra to scale steep slopes such as walls or trees, or other flat surfaces otherwise difficult to climb." In all likelihood, Aaron didn't know what chakra was, either, so he continued.

"It is a natural energy of which we are able to use in varying amounts producing varying results. Through a combination of hand seals, techniques can be invented. It is something that takes a great deal of practice to master, but once you have, like most abilities, it becomes second nature."

He had been ready to open his mouth about asking what exactly chakra was, but Itachi answered it for him. Still, it sounded mystical and magical to him, so he just nodded, dragging his hair back behind his ear, peering at the other worriedly.

"Oh...alright..." he murmured, meeting those crimson eyes for a moment, resting on the windowsill.

"Take care then..."

The shinobi bowed his head. "You as well, Aaron-san."

Turning, continually concentrating the right amount of chakra to his feet, Itachi started up the wall. Only two steps were taken before he paused, however, glancing back one last time at Aaron.

"If you need help of any kind, let me know," he told the boy. Certainly Aaron's problems were not his own, but he had been kind enough to invite him into his apartment out of the hallway and away from the pursuing Yurei... the least Itachi could do was return the favor. "I will keep my communicator close at hand in case."

And that was that. Another slight nod before he was off, effortlessly walking up the wall.
