One. Two. Three.

There. There were the three knocks Dr. Muraki had told him to wait for. Aaron was crouched near the couch, holding only a few candles he had managed to find, a lighter, stuffed hurriedly into a small bag. The idea of going into the basement wasn't appealing at all but...

But it was better than being alone, right?

He took a deep breath, rubbing at his eyes, trying to stop the flow of tears that had assaulted him. The image of Pamela, Belus, and of course Nebiros of all people in the window, dead, empty, reaching out to him...it was more than his delicate sensibilities could take. Muraki's distracting words were a relief and he wrenched the door open, peering upwards and out, biting his lip to keep form displaying anymore than he already was.

"Mister Muraki..."

Muraki stole a quick glance up at the spirits haunting the young man before looking back at Aaron. "Come now, Gawain-san. We should be going." He gently reached to take Aaron's hand, to pull him through the door if necessary, to pull him out of this aquarium-like tableau of dead-eyed spirits.

He only resisted for a moment at the touch of that hand, glancing back one last time in horror before lurching forward and past the door, letting it close with a faint creak.

"Yeah...yeah okay." he whispered, squeezing that hand.

Muraki did not ask about the people floating by his windows, instead offering him a faint smile. "I suppose I should apologize in advance for my smoking." He said, trying to distract Aaron.

"Aaron?" Ciel came trotting down the hall, his eyes terrified and wide, his eyepatch missing, demon seal glowing in the dim light. "I-is that you?" He came quickly up to them, looking frantic and tired, he was limping and covered with red-tape and napkin bandages.

Aaron paused at the new voice, stiffening at first, the hand in Muraki's tightening. He glanced back in trepidation, but those eyes widened when he recognized who it was, through his fear.

"Ciel!" he called out, gesturing for him to come closer, free hand reaching out for him.

"You're hurt...."

Muraki turned, regarding the newcomer with a careful, watchful eye. Moving closer cautiously, he shined the flashlight across his body, careful not to blind him by shining it in his face.
"Let me see. I am a doctor."

Ciel came closer to Aaron, watching Muraki with caution. "Bishop tried to kill me, he sliced me in several places, I'm alright." He shook his head nervously "It was... What was in my window that was the worst..." He diverted his eyes.

He looked back to Aaron. "I'm glad you are aright, I must admit, I grew a little worried." Then he turned to Muraki. "U-Uh, I'm Earl Ciel Phantomhive, who might you be?"

"Aaron..." Ciel looked at the other boy with a hint of concern, something he rarely felt, before shakily following them down to the basement.

"Are we going to stay down here all night?" Ciel asked, sitting on a small empty chest. "One servant of mine smoked, so I do not mind if you do."
