Ever since first hearing about Itachi's condition Konan had been in a rush to find the other and look out for him. It was a faint sense of duty, whether Itachi was dead in her time or not. He was Akatsuki; and she would keep an eye on him and look out for him while they remained there, trapped in that place

He has struggled and fought against the darkness that threatened to consume him. No, he refused to die, at least like this. He had other plans, though from what he heard already, those plans has succeeded.

He fought to pull his body for it's subconscious state at the sound of approaching footsteps. The chance that it was that vampire coming back was not unlikely, but still he remained still.

It changed though, when a familiar voice reached him. He grunted softly, his body not quiet responding yet, though it didn't have to. The owner of the voice had rolled him over, their hand pressing against the wounds in his neck. Slowly he cracked one eye open, gazing up at the blurred image of his fellow Akatsuki member.

"Konan," he responded. "Thank gods."

"You are alive. That is good." and there was relief in her voice, however clipped it was as she carefully kept Itachi close to herself. The hand pressed to his wound harder, attempting to forcibly staunch that bloodflow. She was no medic nin, but she knew the basics of healing all the same...enough to hopefully keep Itachi stable, at least.

"Can you move? Do you have the strength to walk?" she asked, her questions quick and pressing, in an attempt to keep the other alert and thinking.

Better injured and alive than dead, after all.

"Please answer, Itachi-san." she prompted softly, but urgently.

He let his other eye open, his vision blurry still, but because of previous conditions, he couldn't be sure if his current had any effect on that. He blinked a few times, wincing just barely as she pressed harder against his neck.

He looked at her for a long moment. Well, he probably could walk, after all he had made it this far, it was just a matter of not passing out again.

"Yes," he answered. It was a response to bother her questions, however delayed it may have been.
