Where: Kaidoh's Apartment
Summary: Kikumaru sama knows everything obviously so he tries to teach Kaidoh what those doki doki feelings are.
Note: This was like..the world's fastest log.  We did it all in one morning! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.

Eiji sighed loudly as he scratched at his cheek. What was going on here? First Tezuka got all angry at him for no reason and told him that he had to run laps until Ochibi graduated from school. Then each time he tried to talk about it with Tezuka the punishment just got worse which almost resulted in him being given to Sanada. What was up with that? He sighed again. Well, at least in the end, Tezuka had allowed Oishi to be the one to punish him instead of those endless laps or...whatever Sanada would do to him. He walked up to the door to Kaidoh’s room and rapped on it with the back of his knuckles. Tapping to the song he liked about monkeys and whatnot. Oishi hated it when he did that. That thought brought a small grin to his face. The little things made him smile, really. The little things about Oishi anyway.

At least...out of that argument with Tezuka, Oishi had spent the night after coming up to visit him. The little consolation prizes in life, right? You had to enjoy them while you can. He brough that familiar playful smile onto his face as he waited for his underclassman to open the door. Now to find out what Kaidoh had wanted. It was a little strange for him to send a text like that.

Kaidoh looked up from his phone, which he had been clutching in his hands. He stumbled slightly when he got up from his desk-chair, and walked over to the door. When he opened it, he was met by Eiji, and his grip on the phone tightened without he even noticed it. ”Kikumaru-senpai..” he said, somewhat surprised seeing him there.

Well, he had been wanting to talk to him and had texted him about that, but he hadn't really been expection the older boy to turn up this fast, if he did at all. But he shouldn't have been surprised, Eiji was that sort of person, after all.

He stepped to the side to let Eiji into his apartment, as his gaze fell to the floor.

“Yo, Kaioh!” He grinned and stepped into the apartment. He only lived upstairs after all and anyway, there wasn’t much else to do asides from wait for Tezuka...well Oishi now...to hand down his punishment for whatever had happend at the party that he couldn’t remember. He looked around the apartment, noticing the little differences between his and Kaidoh’s. Each boy certainly did change up the apartment to make it seem more like home. It was just fun to see the inside of each person’s home.

He turned and tipped his head curiously. “So...what was so important that you couldn’t tell me through text?” Sapphire eyes watched on curiously and noted the way the normally confident boy stood now. Something definitely was up.

Kaidoh hesitated, then scowled at himself. He closed the door and turned around towards Eiji. “Well... I sort of... need advice and.... stuff..” he said hesitantly. He didn’t know how to say this, how to describe how he was feeling when he wasn’t sure and how to ask the questions he had.
But he supposed that, well, he had to start somewhere.

“Do you remember anything from the party...? The one you and Mukahi-san had on your floor..”

With that first sentence, the grin on Eiji’s face widened. Advice?! Of course he could do that. After all, he was the sempai here and could tell Kaidoh everything he needed to know. Whether it was about tennis or what third year schoolers did or even things like love and relationships. He, after all, had spent many hours following Ochibi and Momoshiro around as they went about their love lives and offered his help whenever he was approached. Asides from that, Eiji really just enjoyed spying and gossiping. Like real life drama. He popped his hands on his hips, ready to answer any question that was thrown at him..except...well … that one. “The party? … Uh well...” He smiled awkwardly and scratched at his bandaged and very black and blue bruised cheek. “Not really...like...why I have this big bruise on my face...I guess I must have fallen on something.”

“...That...was not really what... happened..” Kaidoh mumbled. “It’s sort of... A lot that happened...”

Well, this would be awkward to explain. He fidgeted. “You got that from Sanada-san....”

“I...got this from...” Eiji took a moment to process that information...while he mulled it over in his head, he phone in his pocket vibrated and he signalled for Kaidoh to hold that thought while he flipped it out. He read the message out loud. “Sanada...was going to hit Oishi...but you got in the way...!!!” Before he realized it he was typing out a reply and it was only after he hit send that he connected the text message to what Kaidoh had said. “What do you mean Sanada was going to hit Oishi?!” Eiji’s voice pitched upwards as he asked that question. Why would someone randomly want to his his best friend?

Kaidoh backed away at the sudden outburst, and hissed and wished he was wearing his bandana. “You... Tezuka-buchou... uhm... Oishi-senpai and then..” He stopped talking and took a deep breath. Tried to, at least, but it was difficult to calm down the way his face was burning.

“You kissed... Tezuka-buchou and Oishi-senpai... walked in on it and... Sanada-san tried to get Oishi-senpai to …. not hit Tezuka-buchou and got angry.... When he was about to hit him, you jumped... in the... way...” his voice faded and his balled fists tightened as he remembered Eiji’s and Tezuka’s kiss. He looked down at the ground.

Each word that came out of Kaidoh’s mouth made his eyes widen a little more. That... was completely unbelievable. There was absolutely no way...Eiji’s hand rose up and he covered his mouth with the back of his hand, backing away from Kaidoh until he had backed himself up against a wall. He rubbed at his mouth desperately with his hand now as if he could erase the idea that he had kissed Tezuka. TEZUKA of all people. Maybe someone like Fuji he could comperehend...Fuji was his best friend...or better...someone like Oishi...wait Eiji had kissed Oishi...on the couch...he remembered that much but...Tezuka?! “You’re not telling the truth. There’s no way I would kiss Tezuka.” He froze...and Oishi...had....He could barely breathe with the news that had hit him.

Kaidoh’s gaze refused to focus anywhere, and he bit his lip. “I--it’s t-tru-ue...” He looked up at Eiji a brief moment and retreated to his bedroom and sat down on the bed. He looked out and noticed that he could see Eiji from where he sat. “Senpai...?”

It took a little while for Eiji to respond, his mind worked at a crazy speed to try and process everything that had just been told to him. He kissed Tezuka. ...totally not plausible. Oishi threatened Tezuka. Not plausible unless...for some reason...maybe it was because he was afraid of losing Eiji. If he weren’t so freaked out right now, that thought may have brought butterflies to the pit of his stomach. But right now...no...that wasn’t happening. Sanada was about to hit Oishi to stop the fight between the top two authorities of Seigaku. Plausible. Rikkaidai were crazy. Oishi knew none of this...and it was probably best to leave it that way.

A moment later, Eiji snapped out of what he was thinking and turned, running into the room and stopping right in front of Kaidoh. He reached out deperately, his hands now tense on the younger boy’s shoulders. “You can’t tell Oishi! Any of this! You can’t tell him!”

Kaidoh looked up at Eiji and tensed. I--I wasn’t planning to...” he said. He hadn’t been thinking about that at all. If he found out some other way, he wasn’t responsible. Though he sort of did tell Tezuka-buchou about it.... But he couldn’t help it, it just... He had been asked what happened and it had just happened that he told him. “I promise I won’t tell!” The look Eiji had on his face right now was somewhat scary.

Taking hold of Eiji’s wrists, he released himself from Eiji’s grip and then let his own hands fall into his lap. He looked down at his hands.

He took a deep breath and sighed a moment later. Eiji gathered himself together and moved to sit in one of the chairs in the bedroom, blue eyes watching Kaidoh very carefully. Well...this had to be the reason he was suddenly given infinity laps. There was no two ways about it. The post clearly stated it was directed to people who attended the party and he hadn’t had a run in with Tezuka since then so...What was this all about anyway...? Eiji can’t have...some secret strange desire to … be..with Tezuka in that way...surely. But for what other reason did he have to drunkenly kiss the boy?

The only kiss Eiji could remember from that night was...the kiss from Oishi. The warm fuzzy feelings started to feel tight in his chest once more. He sighed. The kiss that Oishi seemed to have forgotten completely and even worse...the special bubble they shared seemed to have disappeared too. That special little atmosphere that Oishi had enveloped Eiji in near the tail end of the party. He glanced up at Kaidoh, he seemed very tense about it all too. “So...? Why did you want to talk to me...? You said you wanted advice...I haven’t given you any yet.” He forced a smile. There wasn’t any reason to make the boy feel even more pressure than he already did after all.

Kaidoh fidgeted and his hands locked with each other nervously. “Well....” his gaze flickered to Eiji a short moment before returning to his hands. “There’s this.... I don’t know how to..... describe......” He moved his hands to the bedsheets and clutched it. “....It’s sort of.... weird...”

Eiji fidgeted in response...he wasn’t really good at these kinds of talks. This was definitely a motherly Oishi kind of thing. He chewed on his lower lip a moment, then got up out of the chair. He paced a few steps, went back to the chair, turned it around so he sat on it backwards, his arms now resting on top of the chair back. He was great at grand speeches about things that he honestly didn’t know anything about and Kaidoh seemed to be getting very serious. “Weird...? Kaidoh....you can tell me anything. I’m your fearless band leader! Remember?” He managed a small smile to encourage him at the very least.

Kaidoh wrung the bedsheets in his hands and looked up at Eiji- “I... Well.... There’s sort of.... You know I had to.... well.... stalk Tezuka-buchou...?” he asked. He supposed it was better to start somewhere, instead of not getting started at all. If he had gotten to rambling a lot, he never would get started, after all. And it was better to start there than nowhere.

He shifted and forced himself to not look away from Eiji. It was hard, but at least he managed to keep his gaze steady. More or less, at least.

Eiji shifted slightly and looked at Kaidou intently as if trying to get his attention back. When that failed he leaned his head down on his hands and frowned a little. What could be so difficult about what he needed to say, really? He huffed a little sigh and made a little sound as if he were thinking about something difficult for a moment. “I saw the announcement for that. So you reall stalked Tezuka for a day?” The thought made him laugh a little. Well, at least he wasn’t as tense as he was a moment ago after that little chuckle.

“Well... partly...” Kaidoh mumbled. “It’s not as if I had any choice... It... ended up not being the whole day...” He was never going to mention that he had run and Tezuka had come looking for him. It was just too embarrassing. He didn’t think about the fact that the occurrence most likely had been recorded with the camera he had been lent by the company. “And I kind of... it got weird..”

Weird...? Eiji could imagine it got...boring...Tezuka didn’t seem to do that much as far as he knew or the video was full of buchou type lecturing but...weird? Eiji blinked a few times, the surprise very obvious on his expression as he shifted the chair now so it sat a little closer to the other boy. “How did it get...weird?” He continued to watch Kaidoh for any signs that would lead to another interpretation of what he just said. He reached forward and poked Kaidoh in the shoulder as if to snap him out of whatever he was currently zoned in on. “Use your words, Kaidoh. It helps.”

Kaidoh squirmed and looked away, feeling his face heat up. “It’s that I don’t really know..... It felt weird... To be around buchou....” Really weird, and he couldn’t look at him without blushing. “.....As if my heart would explode or something....” He clutched to the front of his shirt and looked at Eiji. Then he slapped his own cheeks in an attempt to get away the blush, but it refused to go away. “Urgh...”

He let himself fall down on the bed and covered his face with his hands. “...I don’t get it...”

Eiji paused for a moment...he stared at Kaidou for the next moment and then he promptly burst into laughter. With that he got up out of his chair and plopped himself in a sitting position next to Kaidoh. He reached out and prodded the boy in the chest with his index finger. “You get all...doki doki there...right? And it feels really tight.” This kind of thing he knew...actually he’d been battling himself with these feelings since...the party. He sighed happily and thought about what to say for a moment. “And you’re going all red too...you’re like me when I’m around Oishi, huh?”

It had only been recently that he had realized his feelings too. Since...he had felt special at the party. Since Oishi had said...”I really care about you...” Or at least in his memories that had been said. With the way Oishi was so blank about the evening it was hard to remember what was and wasn’t done. He distinctly remembered that protective feeling of being in his doubles partner’s arms...as if nothing in the world could hurt him anymore. “When...?” He demanded cheekily, wondering if Kaidoh had felt like this for long.

He shook his head and swatted after Eiji’s hand without putting any effort in it. “....Something like that....” He thought about the last question, and the more he thought about it, the less sure he was of an answer. He shook his head again. “I don’t know...” he replied honestly. “Since sometime... Maybe since my freshman-year....”

It was so difficult to know, but why? It was just... And why did Eiji compare it with his own actions around Oishi-fukubuchou? Well, It was true that it was like that for him too, but it was still odd.
This was so awkward...

He didn’t realize yet why he felt this way. Eiji laughed happily. It was nice to see someone else in the predicament he had been in just a few short weeks ago. Wondering why he felt so giddy around Oishi and how being close to him was so calming despite his own hyperactive personality. He wondered what Kaidoh was like around Tezuka. Most probably different to how he acted around Oishi for sure...but it would be fun to see. For a moment Eiji almost felt like Inui...but his wanting to see was less about data and more about cat like curiousity. He stretched a little as he sat there and tipped his head curiously.

“Freshman year...?” This has been going for a little while then. He stared up at the ceiling for a moment, gathering his thoughts on the situation. “Have you talked to Tezuka...?” Big words coming from someone who wouldn’t even talk to his own doubles partner about how he felt.

Kaidoh’s eyes widened at the question and he quickly shook his head. “N-no.” he stuttered. No, he hadn’t. Because he wasn’t sure what it was he was feeling, of course not. “I think... he believed I was sick... or getting sick... the other day... And I haven’t.... Talked to him since... really... much... It’s... I don’t know how to act and it’s... weird...” He looked up at Eiji and just why couldn’t he stop blushing?!

“I don’t think I’ll be able to talk to him... At least not right now and.....” He rolled around and buried his face in the bedcovers. “I guess it’s not better to avoid him but I just can’t talk to him like this!”

The grin that was plastered on Eiji’s face right now spoke so much. He laughed a little and sighed. Maybe they needed Fuji to deal with this kind of situation after all. He knew what to do when it came to things like this. He really needed to catch up with his best friend again and have a talk after all. “I’ve been...avoiding Oishi too.” He mused quietly, his voice softening at the idea. “You know...he’s my best friend but he makes me feel the same thing that you’re feeling now.” He watched the other for a moment and then perked up. “Why don’t you ask him to play doubles with you?” That had always worked for him and Oishi so why not for someone else too?

“Doubles....” Kaidoh mumbled into the bed. “With buchou...?” he turned his head to look at Eiji. “But he...” doesn’t play doubles. This far, he hadn’t seen him play doubles even once.

He sat up and continued to look at Eiji. Sure, he could do that, but there was still that fact that he didn’t play doubles, Tezuka-buchou. He had sort of been hoping that would pass and everything would go back to normal, but after a few days of thinking about it all the time, it was not easy to believe it would. So what was he then supposed to do? He sighed and tilted his head back and looked up at the ceiling.

Eiji looked at the doubt on the other boy’s expression and frowned a little. Maybe he had said the wrong thing. He wasn’t sure what to say. What would Fuji do in this situation? He tapped on the bandage on his cheek out of habit and flinched a little at the pain. He had forgotten completely about the dark bruise on his cheek. Well..hopefully by white day this bruise would have mostly cleared up...if not he’ll have to think of some really macho story to tell all the fans at the VIP table. Actually...he hoped maybe there’d be still be a mark there that he could spin a tale about. He smiled and poked Kaidoh in the shoulder again.

“Well...what do you want do about it, Kaidoh? I mean...you can’t just roll around and ignore it. It’s not going to go away.” Although that’s exactly what Eiji had been doing since the party. Rolling around...ignoring Oishi for the most part. Except for when he gallantly came in the room and saved eveyone from that...corn. There was a little shudder then he flipped out his phone and texted Bunta. He had forgotten about the messge he received earlier. He talked while he texted. “You know...what it is you’re feeling, right?”

Kaidoh frowned. “.....what I’m.... No....” He didn’t know . Then he wouldn’t be this confused, would he? Right? It couldn’t be that difficult to solve this problem - whatever it was - once he knew what it was, right? “I don’t...”

Eiji grinned brightly, as if he were now some self proclaimed expert just because he had managed to figure it out himself what this feeling exactly what. The doki doki chest pounding and the tight feelings. He wriggled a little as he sat on the bed, straightening himself as if he were a prominent teacher about to teach his new disciple about the grand meaning of life. “You … “ He paused for dramatic effect. “You have a crush on Tezuka.” He laughed happily. “You like him...right? Like how i like Oishi...”

“C--cru---crush.....? O-o-----on Tezu----” Kaidoh shook his head as the red shade of his face increased and he looked at Eiji with wide eyes. “Th--that’s--- No!” He buried his face in the bedsheets and stared down at the sheets. Not much light showed and he couldn’t see much. “It’s.... that... I....” Why would he have a crush on Tezuka? That was weird, it didn’t make any sense.

Eiji burst into a loud round of laughter as he reached down and poked at Kaidoh on the top of his head. He was really cute when he turned out like this. It was a side of his underclassman that he had never been able to witness before. So underneath that hard exterior, and all of that endless running. Kaidoh Kaoru was just a cute little marshmallow. Just like Oishi except Oishi was always a cute marshmallow. He had to resist the urge to hug Kaidoh. That might just embarrass him further. He nudged at him with his finger again. “Kaido~h has a cru~sh.” He couldn’t resist singing even though he had tried not to embarrass him. This kind of situation was much too fun to leave alone.

Kaidoh blushed into the sheets and tried to bury his face deeper into it. “I don’t!” he protested and shook his head again. No way no way no way! It just wasn’t possible! It was just so weird, too weird! “Don’t do that!” he shouted as Eiji teased him. “It’s not funny!” He sat up and looked Eiji in the eyes. “I---I can’t--- But why?” He pulled his legs to his chest and leaned his face against his knees. He closed his eyes and frowned. Why would he have a crush on Tezuka-buchou?

He couldn’t resist another bright smile as he sat there and now reached out to give Kaidoh a very tight hug. It was just so cute to see someone like Kaidoh have a crush like someone. Now if he could convince him to go say something to Tezuka. Well...Eiji would need to get over his own barrier as well but that was a completely different story all together. “It’s okay to have a crush on someone. You know...me and Oishi...” He grinned. “I like Oishi too so...it’s okay if you like Tezuka. I think he needs to get out and do something fun. Maybe he won’t be so mean with my laps …”

Kaidoh squirmed in Eiji’s grip and tried to wriggle out of it. “P-please let go, Kikumaru-senpai...” Like.... But it was so weird for him to like someone. Sure, he like cute animals and stuff, but people? This was just not logical. “I---I don’t think he’ll... be lighter on your punishment... just because of that....” he mumbles, once more trying to wriggle away. Now his face was burning for more reasons than one.

A happy little round of laughter came from Eiji once more as he sat back up and grinned. “He’ll be lighter on my punishment if you make him happy, ne?” He nodded as if that were a great plan. “I mean...when Oishi does little things for me...I always cheer up so it should be the same for you and Tezuka if you like him.” Surely that logic couldn’t be flawed in any way. It made completely sense to Eiji anyhow. He stood up and stretched. “Maybe you should do something for White Day. I’m baking Oishi a cake.” He declared easily.

Kaidoh looked down and sighed. “...I’ll.... think about it, I guess...” He supposed that it might be alright. But there was no way he was going to leave evidences that it had been him. No. Way. He didn’t want that Tezuka got to know. Or, maybe he did or maybe he didn’t, but it was just like that. He had to have more time to think about all this.

Eiji got up and went over to Kaidoh’s desk, pulling out a pen and a piece of paper. “Well I’m going to give you me best chocolate cake recipe...or … hm...” He paused for a moment. “I know you can make Tezuka green tea cake instead. He might like that better.” He stopped for a moment and talked to himself for a moment before he started writing. Pretty sure the recipe went like that. It took him a few minutes to write it all down as well as some quick instructions on how to bake it. “Then you can ice on the top “Love From Kaidoh” and give it to him like that.” He teased with another chuckle.

Kaidoh hissed and his blush got darker. “I can’t do that!” he protested, but still accepting the recipe. “...but thanks....” He looked down at the text on the paper and wondered if he would be able to do something like that. It wasn’t as if he never had baked before, it was just that... well, he didn’t know if Tezuka would like it if he made it for him. What if he screwed up and made it taste horrible?

“You can and you will! He’ll love it.” Eiji smiled and walked over to poke Kaidoh in the shoulder on more time. “I hope you feel better now anyway. If you ever want to ask anything...you can always message me.” He held up his phone and nodded to the boy. “I should...probably go see and start working on my cake.” He smiled and turned a little to head back towards the door. “Don’t leave it too late, okay? Otherwise you won’t be able to decorate it really nice for Tezuka. And it has to be nice..it’s White day.”

Kaidoh sputtered in protest, unable to say anything that would be even remotely comprehensible. Decorate it. Not with his name, at least, he wasn’t.

The grin on Eiji’s face said it all as he pressed the recipe into Kaidoh’s hand and looked at him seriously. “I’m going to give Oishi a cake...so you have to be brave to.” For some reason it sounded so funny to say something like that to Kaidoh. He was one of the most daring people on the tennis team. Ah well. He turned to leave and waved a happy goodbye. At least this was all sorted. And...he got the full story of that party night. Oh god...the things that had happened at that party. Eiji hoped Oishi never had to find out. He would keep this secret...Oishi isn’t allowed to know about him kissing anyone else but him.
