Ooh. That's lovely. A very nice interpretation of the prompt. You know the people without scars that show are often the ones with the most scars of all.

Thanks! It seemed to me that Elizabeth carries off a sort of teflon appearance, but it all must get to her by the end.

Yay for amnesty month! I'm glad you finished this, cause this is an interesting Elizabeth. I like that Will caught her when they were kids - she misses having him around to catch her, and her memories of Norrington's eyes. I just like the pain in this; the things that'll never be healed.

I think Elizabeth doesn't notice, at the beginning, how much those around her bend for her, she just takes it for granted. But by the end of the movies, I would think she'd be carrying around a fair amount of guilt for the suffering she has inadvertently caused. Mind you, she's carefully NOT thinking about killing Jack here...angst for another day, perhaps. *grin*

Oh, I *really* loved this. Wonderful Elizabeth.

She had been kidnapped, manhandled, rescued, cosseted, kissed, cursed at, captained and kinged

Beautiful line.

Thanks! That's one of my favorite lines, too.

Reasons I love you - you write so beautifully and with such imagination.

Reasons I hate you - you make me do things I vowed I never would (like read Elizabeth Swann fic)!

Thanks so much for utilising the amnesty.

*chuckle* So sorry, m'dear! I'm not much of an Elizabeth fan, either, but she just wouldn't leave me alone for this prompt. I have a Horatio/Archie story just beginning to gel, however, so perhaps that will make up for it? *puppy eyes*

Good story! It's good to see her remembering the sacrifices of others and girding herself for the day ahead.
