AUTHOR'S NOTE: I did so want to write something for lokei‘s prompt and I tried to be sensible, truly. But when I thought of boots, my mind kept coming back to two things. And they’re both stupid.

Of course I wanted to write your prompt - it's been bugging me all week. I had a sensible idea but it fizzled out entirely...

Huh, I don't know why that wouldn't work for you, but I added it myself. It's not "M&C"; I use "Aubrey-Maturin" as the tag, but it should have allowed you to do that.
