Oh, Archie. This was pretty heart-breaking, particularly this:

You still await the time he risks his life for you alone.

And the last paragraph was just perfect. You packed so much emotion into this story.

Thank you. The reason it was so short is that it got all a bit too emotional for me.

Poor Archie; he does suffer beautifully, but most of all he suffers. *sighs*

Aw. Thank you. *hides in a corner because I actually thought the whole thing was weak...*

Oh, boys. The second paragraph totally socks me in the gut--seems very Horatio, to just sit on all that guilt and not be willing to be free of it. Beautifully done, all told.

Thank you so much. Our lads - so adorable, so sad.

The second paragraph reflects a constant image I have of Horatio at present; clinging to all his guilt for some sort of comfort. Need to write it out of the system.

Oh, but this is beautiful and wrenching.

(You always come back to grace -- and this story personifies it perfectly. That Archie risks his life for Horatio alone; that is grace, and nothing more or less. Fantastic!)

The last paragraph especially is harsh and exquisite in equal parts.

Thank you sweetheart. Archie is full of grace, in many ways. When he determines that he'll go back to Ferrol for Horatio's honour that's just such an example of it.

That last part was so hard to write...
