i so love this! this- is such a beautiful story. I can so feel the romantic atmosphere, yet you keep the characters to themselves: Ashe is how she should be! And all the tiny references to the game. I adore this kind of stuff. Your story is the kind in which one has to immerse themselves in. Then once caught, its really quite exciting. Well - of course, it helps mostly because I get all weak-kneed over Ashe Basch bits ^^

Ah the Uncle Halim carrying the little princess. Tis so sweet, and I remembered how fondly he said that in the game, how he once knew a child he carried in his arms. -squeals and flails happily - XD

I know most believe that her royal highness would never resort to any of suggested men: Basch being 'Gabranth - the king slayer? - how much would the people forgive? If ever, they had forgiven the Archadian Judge? And not only that, the people of Archadia as well. ohh but your writing skills would definitely make a believer out of me. Ok, enough of my rambling. Hurry with the next!

She's only 8 years old, and Basch is not about to rob the cradle anytime soon (though, even when Ashe is a full-grown woman, Basch still feels like he's robbing the cradle) ^^ But I can't help in making Basch the magnificent babysitter (or Nanny?), and I'm sort of glad that Ashe didn't went OOC, but since she's only 8 (if not a precocious child who thinks she's able to handle things herself), I think we can stretch her a little

I echo the opinion that the references are a really nice touch. Maybe I don't pay enough attention, but you don't seem to get that in a lot of pre-game fic...

About the moogle, let's just say that Basch masochism is like an air-borne sickness that would infect those around him. Actually, we should feel sorry for people who hangs around Ashe and has to deal with her demands.

Heh... I'm glad you liked it, and the little references from the game. I tend to insert them because my lack of creativeness to come up with more original ideas, and also to justify some of their actions in the game and makes it easier to associate with the characters. There seem to be more post-game than pre-game fics, and even less where it concerns Ashe. For what I've commonly read, it always begins after Rasler arrives.

Chapter 2... Tomorrow, exactly a week from Chapter 1. Shall be updated as promised ^^

I find it completely within canon that a younger Ashe dearly needed a boot to the head. Or several. Well done.

Sadly, as much as short-tempered knights like Vossler and her many other attendants (Basch excluded though, since he shines with saintly patience) would like to pound his sollerets on her head religiously, they couldn't, cause Ashe's royal blood and lineage is practically her license of non-offence at any condition. Not to mention, younger Ashe is deadly, even moreso than her older self, cause she knows how useful, her baby charms works on the ignorant people.

Manipulative children are the scariest and young Ashe is a powerful at that XD
