It sucks when the fandom you particularly dislike is the one EVERYONE'S talking about. I mean, obviously I like Glee but I will be the first to admit that its attitude towards tick-boxing minority groups is a self-righteous one. So I guess I sort of see where some of what you're saying is coming from.
Yeah, sorry, I couldn't think of how to phrase that in a more eloquent way.
(Also, I've been reading that Bad Machinery comic you linked to and it's awesome, I'm loving the art and the... Britishness of it all.
I'll admit, I do watch Glee, but mainly for the songs and the fact that it's an incredible trainwreck and oh do I love watching trainwrecks. also I love Sue because she's so over-the-top mean. and Brittany because she's hot and I'm shallow.
But I agree, every time I see someone talking about how GOOD the most recent episode was or something, I'm like "slfsjkfjkds are we watching the same show? did you not just see those five terrible points of fail in a row before they even got to the commercial break?" idek. I mean, I think they make the show stereotypical and cliche on purpose, but I can't tell if they mean to make it BAD at the same time or that's entirely by accident. and then I get worried that people like it because they think it's actually GOOD writing/characterization/etc. I haven't looked at the fandom at all for fear of what lurks there.
