First of all, last Tues was voting day here (primaries). I had planned to vote on my way home from the library, around noon.

eek! scary school lockdown stuff - and yeah, I have no idea how teachers manage to keep their kids quiet and calm!

and how immensely unthinking are all the people who came up with the idea to block access to the polling station on election day? Infuriating levels of incompetency! One wonders if the poll volunteers were wondering "where are all the people" leading them to go outside and find out about the blocked off nonsense?

Apparently one rather head-strong 4 year old girl screeched for the entire 1:15 they were supposed to be silent. *bangs head*

Surely there are laws about polling places and access to them that were broken around your local polling place? I think that is legitimately a Big Deal. Especially having to interact with police officers to access the polling place, which would be very intimidating for a lot of voters.

Apple have done similar annoying things with software updates recently. My ringtone used to be the chorus of “Victoria” by the Kinks (so my phone literally called out my name when it rang), but Apple have now made it so you can only have ringtones they provide or you purchase via the iTunes Store. It’s so petty!

And the lockdowns sound terrifying. I hope they catch the bright spark who called in and set the whole thing off.

I love that your phone used to call out your name! Grumble. Why do "updates" have to take things AWAY?

(One of Will's friends has a ringtone that says, "It's the wiiife, don't answer the phone!" lol)

And ugh to the other annoyances. Glad you got to vote, at least, but, yeah, I'm sure a lot of people gave up without trying another time.

I'd complain about the whole voting thing but I'm not sure who to complain *to*. City council? The county department of public works? Someone else?
