Yellow parenting icons

So, I passed my yellow-belt test today, but I'm feeling rather underwhelmed. ( tl;dr unless you really want to know the nitty-gritty details )

Congratulations for your yellow belt! Yay!
So, I can understand, emotionally, that it was a bit underwhelming, it was not the hard challenge you had expected. Still, nice! :D
I think you will be challenged harder in the future! ;P

Sorry to hear about snippy kids!

Yes, I'm sure there will be later tests, if I stick with it, where I will probably not WANT to be challenged so much! lol

First of all before I forget, hot chocolate.

Whiny kids will be whiny kids I'm afraid. My little brothers are 14 and 12 now, they still snipe and they still whinge. When my older brother and I are at home, all four of us get snippy with the others. Doesn't matter that he's 34 and I'm 28, we are siblings and siblings don't always get along. My older brother was whinging about how I wasn't expect to help with dinner or clearing up last time I was home, our mum said that when he couldn't walk, sit or stand up without being in agony then he would be excused from chores. As for chores in general, some things click at different times.

Congratulations on your yellow belt! Sorry to hear the test felt anticlimactic, but I'm sure you earned your belt anyway!

You have my sympathies on the snippy and wild children. The rodents have been particularly bickery this weekend, too. Maybe it's that time of year?

Thank you for the icon explanations! I remember you used to watch Numb3rs, but never actually knew what it was about -- it sounds fun, actually. Of the new-to-me ones, I really like the badass Hufflepuff icon! :)

I think your household would really like Numb3rs. If you ever buy/borrow the series on DVD/Netflix/etc, just know that the first episode or three aren't really good indicators of how the rest of the series goes. At least, that's my opinion.

I like the badass Hufflepuff, too, but I don't get to use it too often.

LVN still doesn't do what I tell him, and he stomps and whines when I ask. Two weeks ago he walked on and smashed his own iPod because it was in the pocket of his shorts, on the bedroom floor. And I was like, "Duh, shorts go in the laundry basket, iPod goes on the dresser." Now he's had to use a lot of his hoarded allowance to replace the thing.

Now, at this exact moment, he's in a violin lesson going over stuff he should have practiced last week, but he was "too busy" "doing homework," except he always has hours to waste in the bathroom with the door shut (really, I don't want to know) and also talking to his girlfriend on the phone. It's a nice change from the constant sneaking to play online games, which still goes on but is now broken up with who-knows-what in the bathroom and phone marathons.

Has he always been a bathroom hibernator, or is this a new development? I'm the only person in our household who can just go, do my business, and be done. Everyone else takes ages. IDK.

He has ALWAYS been like this and it drives me bananas. The Scholar doesn't do that and neither do I unless, obviously, I'm super sick with IBS and can't leave. It's definitely not my preferred vacation spot.

I think that's where he is now because the house is really quiet except for the sound of the dryer turning wet clothes into more work for me.
