Thank you! And come back to read likebunnies' comment. The link she shared is amusing, but some of the follow-up posts are downright hilarious. Or, at least, I thought so. And, hey, soon it'll be YOUR 15th anniversary! :D
(Oh, and hope you have a very nice dinner tonight.)
LOL at the topical Dog Shaming XD And thank you for pointing me to the links below -- the big metal chicken and the towels/stickers and the baby sloth entries were all priceless -- definitely the laugh I needed after a day of fasting :D
BAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! Actually, even more than the original post, I loved the follow-up one about the towels and the "fucked-up stickers". I laughed so hard I cried. Thanks for the link. :D
I am going to be so disappointed if I don't get a giant metal chicken next month. And even more disappointed if I don't get a visit from a baby sloth next year!
Re: Two and therapy. Hopefully she'll get more comfortable with the therapist and start to open up more. After my first overdose when I was eleven, I was made to go see a child psychiatrist. I hated it and refused to talk to him for the first few appointments. But eventually I did talk to him and I continued with talk therapy (with various counsellors) until I was in my early 20s. One thing that my dad did with me was that any time I mentioned something that was making me angry or sad, he's say that I should mention that to the psychiatrist next time. And he would remind me of those things just before my appointment. Obviously I was older than Two but it did work with me.
Since this therapist works almost solely with adopted children, some quite young - like preschool age - I'm sure she's good at pulling issues out of the kids, before they're willing or able to state them, themselves. I just have to learn to step back and let it happen, I think.
So for the 10th anniversary, the traditional gift is tin. When my parents were here in June for Boy2's graduation, we went looking for something for my brother & his wife. We stopped off at an antiques warehouse and found flying pigs in the folk-art genre. Brightly painted and cute and affordable. I don't know if they were made from tin (probably not, just some generic metal)but they now have a flying pig in their garden.
But not as big as that chicken. Holy shit. That's a BIG chicken.
Do you think 2 will warm up to the therapist once she gets to know her? *hugs*

I love that someone changed the traditional wedding gifts on Wikipedia.
