30-Day Book Meme V2.0 - Day 1
I’ve been in book withdrawal since ending the 30-Day Book Meme, so when I saw catyah post another book meme of substantial size on her LJ, I decided to spread out the book love once again, and turned it in to another 30-day meme.
Day 1 - What books do you have on request at the library? How many books do you usually have checked out of the library at any given time? How often have you returned books to the library unread? What do you currently have checked out at the library?
I have several books on request for Mike at the moment - all Dresden Files short stories. The only book I have on request for myself is a short story in the Hannah Swensen series by JoAnne Fluke, set to be released later this fall. I just returned a handful of books from the Hollows series by Kim Harrison. I was undecided about purchasing the series, so I ordered them from the library. (I have since purchased the entire series, with exception to the short stories in larger collections.) I am forever at the library exchanging books - usually it's in batches of two or three at a time, but that varies with what I'm currently in the middle of reading. I rarely return books unread, but it does happen. Typically, if I order the book, it means I want to read it. I have returned a few more than typical lately though, as I've been too absorbed in my own book choices to read what my various book clubs have chosen.
ETA: I take that back...I also have the new Janet Evanovich book Wicked Appetite on order. I'm so far down on the food chain, I'm not sure how soon I'll get to read it.
