The biggest problem with all versions of Windows from 95 on up to 10, is the error codes or lack thereof can have multiple causes, or none.

The fun part is trying to figure out which is it and rectifying it.

Out of the blue, one of my WD external drives started kicking back "Local Drive", disk management said it was RAW data, and the data was inaccessible. Ok, more like resurrected.

The Seagate drive diagnostic at Payam Data Recovery showed that the drive heads had failed. I was asked if I wanted to attempt a data recovery, and I said yes. I paid the non refundable deposit and the drive was sent to PAYAM clean room facilities, where it would be taken apart, tested to see if the data could be ( Read more... )

Did the Windows update, and all went well. Upon login I get message for HardDisk Sentinel that an external HD, that has been functioning at 100% health, no problems is suddenly at 9% health, get my ass in gear, get a new drive, move data before it's lost ( Read more... )
