Went out to pick limes from my tree, and hear odd cawing noises. Looked up, saw a splash of red in black feathers. Quick stepped into the house, got my camera and got a few shots

Cherish them, even with their destructiveness - you can expect to lose any fruit/nuts/flowers in the trees ... - they are severely endangered and were decimated by the hails storm in March last year.
I get white-tailed ones that eat my almonds every year. They have moved on to the fruit forming on a neighbours cape lilac, and will soon return to destroy another neighbours (later fruiting) almond tree.

I get the Carnaby Cockatoos around here all the time. This is the first time the Red Tails have been around here.
