Glad you think so, sweety. When I read this prompt, I just couldn't help myself. The idea of this gigantic, peaceful, be-tusked hog prancing around like he owned the Shire wouldn't leave me alone until I had written it down.

Bilbo wasn't amused by my idea, particularly when considering how much it would cost to feed a War Hog six meals a day, but he's a big softy, and when he saw how happy Frodo was, he gave up and accepted Rupert as part of the family. XD

It's a fantastic prompt, and your fill is so very happy making :)

LOL I can just picture Bilbo's grumpy face, especially when he see's the cost of food. Though I think Bilbo is well-off in canon? I'm not sure, I'm not very well-versed in Tolkien (especially beyond the movies).

Bilbo was well-off before thirteen dwarves and a wizard showed up one day to raid his pantry; he was filthy rich, by Shire standards, after the whole adventure and dragon bit. He took back a chest of gold, a chest of silver, an ancient weapon from an elvish kingdom that didn't even exist anymore, a coat of mail made from a material that is quite literally invaluable, and half the gold in the troll hoard. It was so much money, that seventy years later he still had plenty over, despite having taken on quite the lavish lifestyle all that time.

Still, it's the principle of the thing. You wouldn't be happy to be stuck with a money pit either, particularly one that could potentially be dangerous on to of being huge, no matter how much of that money you had. Good thing Rupert is a mastermind at winning over hobbits's hearts XD.
