Yeah, I'd never heard of Beefeater but I like to eat beef!

Speaking of restaurants, can you recommend any really good ones that we might want to dine at while we are in Houston this weekend?

Well, sure! Of course, the kind of restaurant I like best is the hole-in-the-wall-that-isn't-much-to-look-at-but-has-fabulous-food. If you're more into ambience, you might not like these at all ( ... )

Ambiance is nowhere near as important to me as the quality of the food. Thanks for the thoroughness of your suggestions. I did leave it a little open ended, didn't I?

One this you missed that I think Julie might be interested in is BBQ. Can you recommend a good place for that?

It seems like this should have a time limit. Not like reading a book or seeing a movie. It shouldn't count against someone that they ate at Burger King or Chuck E Cheese as a child, for example.

Of course this assumes that chain restaurant eating is bad, but I tend to think that. Not that local-only places are always better for the environmental and quality reasons, but you're a lot less likely to be getting tomatoes from a warehouse in Hoboken when you're in Arizona if it's a single-instance place.
