Doctor Kathy Miller was just putting on her coat to go home after a long shift when her cell phone rang. It was Melissa, one of her favorite nurses from the ER.

“Doctor Miller, are you still in the hospital?”

“I was just about to leave, why?”

“I hate to bother you, but we have a patient here who might need your expertise.”

I LOVE your doctor... Kathy Miller was it? There needs to be more doctors like that in the world.(Not saying that awesome, understanding doctors are in short supply, just that MORE of them would be sooo much better) She is FREAKING awesome.

Isn't she?:D She just came to me while I was writing this, stomped her foot and demanded to be given voice, because Blaine deserved to have the best doctor possible.

Hi I'm just reading this chapter. I do sexual assault activism and have worked with survivors. I have the very basic training to work with sexual assault victims, but I am in no way a professional/certified. Crime Victims Advocates, as they're called, receive something like 40 hours of training. I got about 2. It was so that way I could work at the Women's Center on my campus where we often received survivors of assault, whether it occurred the night before or five years ago, and we could work with them as a 'bandaid' so to speak until they talked with a certified counselor if they wished to continue talking about it. We essentially informed them of their options, so I was also involved in the reporting process
