Sweet Memories

Every year on the Independence Day, we would go to the school for an hour. Empty handed, we would march straight to the assembly area and line up for the action. To be truthful, I was never too excited about the longish speech by the principal but the rest of it was fun. You went to school on Independence day? I had a holiday.
We hoisted the flag and sang the anthem on the 14th. And I never had to hog the mic. It was always mine. I think most of the students were not keen enough to join the choir.
I dont remember getting any samosa, peda or laddoo. I think my school did not distribute anything, which is another reason why I hate my school.

man, you brought my memories back.i was studying in D.A.V..the same thing happened everyyear. we even competed with friends who got more bags. what we did was line up again. lol. apparently, it worked for us.
