There are times when you write down something but do not get around to posting it for various reasons, yes? I found one such old post that I had written on the 27th day of February in the year 2006. Things have changed but this is one thing I still feel very strongly about - hence posting now.

Are we secretly at war?

There is no doubt that the world ( Read more... )

Ha ha. I totally agree. This used to happen to me all the time, while I was single. And yes, only the 'married/in a relationship' ones, were at the other end, all those times... But I mostly got 'why arent you seeing anyone. No, you must meet this friend of mine. You guys would SO get along'.
I think all of them have different reasons for getting on your nerves with this topic...most of them (at least the friends) want me to have a companion (that's what the concept of a relationship/marriage is about, yes?) and feel the bliss of being in love, of belonging...The rest are all simply jealous or insecure about their own relationships. What say you?

Umm...I get the point about friends wanting you to have a companion. I too am of a strong belief that every one should have a companion because as we grow older, friends get busy in their lives, so do the relatives and one usually finds oneself alone. However, this does not mean you go ahead and get married to just anyone. Also, everyone has their own priorities. Some marry at 22 and some at 38. Their life, their decisions. Why should we bother, unless we are their parents. Yeah?

I am still confused. I do not ponder over this issue as often as I did earlier but when see old or even not-so-old aunts torturing young girls at other people's weddings, I still get very angry. And I am still not asking you go get married, am I? =)

I dont think that each and every married woman is rolling in perfect marital bliss or hates her status. Its just that they love to express their concern for the unmarried ones. There is no basis for this.
And a digression: Whenever two people feel like getting married, they should live-in for some time.
Recently I advised one of my frens to think hard before getting married.
