Of Dark Tales and Mindless Fun

Having gotten out of my Woody Allen mode, I settled down for some assorted movies this weekend. I saw a fairytale, a superhero film, and a mindless comic mystery. Loved them all, in different ways.

Let me begin from the beginning. It all began when I found myself without the next episode of Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip; stuck with the cliffhanger ( Read more... )

Yay! I too sang Harry's praises last week. And also, JK Simmons as J Jonah Jameson did his share of scene stealing!

Oh yeah, J Jonah Jameson was very well portrayed! The ringer scene had the theater in splits. Actually, I even liked the look of Gwen. She did look like her. But the character was useless.
O Rebecca! I love the book. I wanna watch the film too.

Sounds like you had a nice, fruitful weekend:) The fairytale and the mindless comic mystery sound nice indeed.

The superhero one well...:)

I concur with one more thing though...

continues to make MJ look shabby
Totally... tell her to stop spending money on taxis and lend her a comb and point her to a parlour for waxing. :o

Oooh yes! Waxing. In the last scene, when we get a close up of her arm in light, OMG!! :)

I saw Spidey too! Agree with you - Tobey's dancing was so cringeworthy and James Franco is hot!! Although I like Kirsten Dunst and think she gets a hard time from folk!
Pan's Labyrinth is in another league altogether!

Um...I have never seen any other movie of Dunst. And I love MJ far too much to be easy on the actor playing her. Anyhow, I thought she looked a bit too shabby in this one.

Yes, Pan's Labyrinth is another league!
