Yay!!!

That's the only fun thing I didn't do in Rishikesh. All of my cousin and my persuasion powers fell to deaf ears. The higher lords--Mom and Mausi, just wouldn't budge. Grrr...

Of course! Do you know why it took my 5 years to go rafting? Coz mum wouldn't let me!! The first time she said, "only girls!! Not safe." Next time it was "So many boys and just two girls! No." It took growing up a few years before I could make this trip.

HW I empathise wid u..my parents wont allow me for the same reason..But rafting remains my dream & I shall fulfil it some day .

Ya, you must! It is pretty safe, you know! Well, rafting is not all that safe a sport but the Rishikesh strech is comparatively safer and they are extremely well organized. Their gear is very professional and the instructors seem good too. Give it a shot some day.

I have rafted in Sikkim in the Teesta river. It was such a good experience.

Ah! I was thinking that given your traveling spirit, you would've rafted. Isn't Teesta for certified rafters?
