Lord of the Rings...Peter Jackson took Tolkien's epic and made it a moving, talking, breathing cinematic legend. Both the book and the film have been praised to death. And yet no compliment can be enough to do them justice.
Another book...Sense and Sensibility...Ang Lee made a impressive feature film out of it. Frankly this is one time when the movie was much much more fetching that its texted version.

I'll take your word that 'Sense and Sensibility' came out better on celluloid because, my love for Austen's writing notwithstaning, I am no big fan of the book. Somehow, it never grew on me like 'Emma' or 'Pride and Prejudice' did.

I had wanted to see 'Message in a Bottle' for a long time inspite of bad reviews. minn gifted me its VCD as I was unable to find one. She warned me it was no great film. But I am still glad I saw it.

I didnt read the book, but watched.
If not anything, I liked the taking initially till I saw the behind the scenes thing. If you didnt see them, do it. I am sure you wouldn't have the same respect u have now.
I watched The notebook the otherday, I couldnt help fall in love with poetic fotography in the movie.
