bugger, you're right...
i suppose i need to add them as friends for them to be able to read my posts?

ok, you go on their user info page and at the top, just over the user name, it will say "To join this community, please click here"
You click that and you have to make posts specifically for that community. How?
Try and make a new post, if you scroll down at the very bottom (after of course you have joined the community), just under the "mood" and 2music", you will see "post to..." and you can select one of the communities in the scroll down list. Just right next to the button UPDATE JOURNAL

but in case i need to post to many communities do i have to copy and paste the message every single time?
anyway thanks, i always wondered how to post certain stuff without everyone on my friends' list knowing...
