Ant, I didn't know that about your Dad {{{HUGS}}}. I love this picture of one of the nephews - look at those eyes! They see right to your soul don't they?
I miss your dad too. What an incredible man. He made me feel like I was family too. Thanks for sharing your memories/photos in your previous entries. I recently came across some photos of him. I'm glad I have those and the great memories of him. I also stopped going to church on father's day after my dad died, then recently returned after having kids. The focus is now on their dad. Take care. Kristin

This was my second Father's Day without my dad. I use the word "Dad" because to think the word "Daddy" which is the name I used (unless I was mad at him)makes me cry for some reason. (Yes, I'm crying now). While "Dad" feels a more comfortable distance. I also avoided going to church. I just don't relish going to pieces around strangers, so I tend to avoid church altogether. I went Easter, and had to leave before it was over because I had destroyed my last tissue and Mr. PetuniasMama's hanky. My mom, who saves EVERYTHING, apparently, sent me a package for this Father's Day, containing assorted cards and letters I sent him from the time I was five years old. This did make me feel a bit better somehow. I also feel a bit better now that the first year has passed. There were too many anniversaries to mark in my mind the first year- last time I hugged him, last time I got an email, last time we ate in a particular restaurant together, last time we went fishing, etc. Anyhow, I digress. I know we are blessed to have wonderful dads

From another member of the fatherless club. I lost my dad just after New Years 1991.
