coffee, tea, or . . . mouthwash?

Feb 03, 2005 23:29

YAY! The pumps for the coffee syrup arrived today! I ordered pumps from DaVinci Gourmet, because I'm tired of pouring the raspberry syrup for my latte into a spoon like medicine. . .and spilling a lot of it each time! The weird part? I got an email from them this morning, that my products had shipped at 9:41. At about 10:30 or so, I went ( Read more... )

Was that a big fat hint? yokospungeon February 4 2005, 07:56:50 UTC

SERIOUSLY?! Can this be done? Had I known that, it would have been a big fat hint! I can't imagine it. And I'm suprisingly thrilled with the idea :) (<-- me with a big fat grin)) If you're serious, then I'm serious.

hmmmmmm if one were going to measure a cute fat teapot, where would one start?

Wait -- should I go look at the knitter's community to see if this is a big deal? I don't want it to be a pig bain (or a big pain, but that's what I typed first, and it entertained me) for you, but I have to say that the idea charms me.

OK -- at the risk of sounding really, really stupid, I've just finished doing "research" (and saw the link atabei posted below).

Who knew you could knit a tea cozy?! Not I.

Yoko -- I'll PM you, because yes, I'd love one, if it's not too big of a deal. I think it would be so fun to have something that pretty made by one of my friends!

No problem anto :)

I would, if you agree, like to use that same zigzaggy pattern that atabei posted in the link - because bookcrosser MargeryK bequeathed me that pattern from one of her female relatives and it gives me a kick to think the patterns which were given into my guardianship are getting well-used. A good sort of 'pay it forward' effort.

:) What sort of colour would you like? A nice dark blue?

Americans drink tea? bruised_heel February 4 2005, 10:08:34 UTC
All your personal details on your address label, as i'm out delivering the mail i see this far to often, and i feel uncomfortable just delivering such items. I think you should get in touch with them, and if we all did the same hopefully in time they will get the message and respect our privacy.

Surprisingly, yes. Didn't you see the proper pot of tea thread the other day? tsk tsk. Your assignment is to go back to that thread and research the nationality of every poster.

Wait a minute. I just remembered you're my favorite mailman, and your comment confirms that I need to yell at these people. I thought it was just me. You are off the hook for your assignment.

I reckon if you're only drinking tea without sugar, it's perfectly okay not to brush your teeth again that night and just swish with mouthwash. I say this particularly because tea has been found to be good for the teeth. Someone might disagree with me though.

Thanks for the link! Makes me think twice about drinking as much Diet Pepsi as I do :)

(and is it just me, or is that the worst quality picture you've ever seen attached to a news article?)

Where to start.... chromatographer February 4 2005, 11:20:52 UTC
First--I love Revolution tea!! I am particularly fond of Honeybush Caramel. Sometimes, I just like to look at the tea bag, it's so pretty!

Second--I agree that the lack of privacy on that label is an issue. Write that letter. But kudos to them for getting it delivered less than an hour after they shipped it:)

Third--I say, just do the mouthwash.

aren't their tea bags pretty? They don't even seem like tea bags, since you can actually see and feel the leaves! I was trying to decide if it was weird to save the bag last night!

I've never had caramel tea, but I have a tin of the leaves from Adagio. I'll have to try it and see if I might branch out :)

re: the shipping time -- especially since they're based in Seattle!

Hey, that's a cute teapot. I love tea and jaffa cakes. I'm drinking mango green tea right now.

But I'd say you should brush your teeth even if you don't take sugar - otherwise the tannin in the tea will stain them.

MM weighs in with new information! I thought only "plain brown" (what we used to call orange pekoe in our house) had tannins. Am I wrong and clueless? Scratch that. Am I wrong? :)

(it is a cute pot, ain't it?)

Well, I might be wrong (and am probably clueless as well) :-) I was assuming you were using black tea mixed with other stuff - for instance tea made from real tea leaves with peach added - in which case it would still have tannins in it. Or is it a herbal infusion, with no 'real' tea in it?

now I'm clueless! That's actually a good question, and I should go back and look :)

. . . ain't it all just good-smelling hot water?
