to vend or not to vend

Mar 27, 2006 16:45

So I'm at the Red Box machine (I think I've mentioned it before -- it's basically an ATM for DVDs -- a small kiosk outside McDonald's, and you can get movies for a buck!) and I choose my movie. I swipe my card, and the message on the screen says "(Movie name) is being vended." Really? Just how does one "vend" a movie? Can candy bars be vended? Cups of coffee? Was "processed" just too difficult a word to use?

Between that and the fact that no one else in my class this morning found anything wrong with this sentence: "A student who pays attention to their grades will do well," I'm flabbergasted. My gast is flabbered.

After being in NY last week and in Colorado Springs over the weekend, I probably won't catch up on all my friends page, so if there is something huge that I missed, please let me know :)
