On Friday, I will be attending my great Uncle Joe’s funeral. We called him “Uncle Joe” regardless of his actual relation, which I come to think of as irrelevant anyway

The funny thing is that we still had a 30-minute service outside in the freezing cold. While I wouldn't call it formal, it was still very Catholic. The deacon did focus in on my Uncle which I thought was appropriate and personal.
It could have been a cost issue but my Uncle had also gone to the same church for 50+ years. Don't the Catholics give that as sort of a free service? LOL
