I've only seen the show in commercials on TV...it looked too stupid for me to bother watching.

Howeva, you can never get too much Family Guy ;).

I just recently started watching Family Guy, and saw a decent handful of episodes with a friend a couple weeks ago. We then caught an episode of American Dad, and it seemed blindingly clear the show's purpose is to ape Family Guy, but it's less clever and more crude.
