I've learned that knowing what they're thinking doesn't necessarily help.

Understanding doesn't always lead to comprehension.

I'm not even certain I got as far as comprehension in some cases.

You have any stories to share?

Ah. . . no real stories! Only a conversation's very hard to carry when you can't hear half of what you're telling someone else.

What about you? You sound well.

[antisilent]

I can see how that might be problematic. It would depend on the understanding of the other party. [a beat-] I'm doing well though. I think everyone is a little frazzled.

[outwalks]

I can see why they would be. Five days of that. . .

I was lucky enough to be excluded.

A few people were, it seems. Still, it must have been odd to be surrounded by everyone else's thoughts.

I prefer to talk in person, usually. It's more easily noticed then.
