Ashura knows. It's just... there was this lady Ashura was talking to who said she could feel people coming back to life, and Umi said there's no death here. Ashura didn't think that'd be possible.

Ashura wants to! Megumi thought Ashura should ask Vivio too, though.

Ashura doesn't know. None of the people saying it's like that seem like they'd be lying.

You think? Would it be boring to go alone?

[she's made her way to the carousel, and arrived exactly on time. Laura's not entirely sure how to go about this-meeting new people is tricky, especially those who have no connection to her original universe-but she heads over to the person she assumes is Ashura. She stands there, stares at him, and probably takes a good ten seconds too long to ask]

Are you Ashura?

[Ashura had grown more nervous the closer the time for their appointed meeting was drawing. It never occured to him to think of Laura as a threat, but something about her just seemed so strange, even though he didn't quite understand how. It was something about they way she talked, he had eventually decided. He wondered what kind of person she'd turn out to be?]

[When she approaches him, he smiles - she's a very pretty human girl! - but the smiles fades when she proceeds to stare, and for a moment he feels insecure, almost slightly afraid. Is she angry? Disappointed?]

[He nods hesitatingly.] You're Laura?

[although she's relieved that she's found the right person, it doesn't show in her expression. She nods, confirming her identity, and then isn't certain of what to do or say. Maybe if she waits, he'll ask her a question, or tell her what they should do. After several moments of contemplation, she offers out her hand for him to shake. It seems like the right thing to do]

[He stares at her hand for a moment, then up at her, and back at the hand. Not knowing quite what he's expected to do, he figures it's a greeting, and responds with what seems natural: he carefully takes her offered hand in both of his and holds it for a few moments, smiling briefly up at her.]

Hi.

Really kid, they died and came back. Over and over and over again.

Mara? Yes, Ashura knows... it just sounds so strange.

Are you okay now?

Animals? Of course. Depending on their intelligence, I'd imagine they'd adapt to their abduction here differently.

Really? Differently how?

The more sentient of creatures would probably react in a way you or I would. Those that are not would probably just adapt according to what nature has programed them to do I suppose. Might not even notice.

(ooc: I totally did not notice this tag. I apologize.)

Ah... that's sad. To not even notice you've been taken from your family.

[ooc: No worries!]

They died and came back. But you're right, that's not how it usually works. But the City is different, here people don't die. Usually if someone dies in the City they are stuck here forever though.

They can never go home?

i_know_stuff May 25 2009, 14:10:45 UTC
I believe that's what happens. There are some curses that allow people to die and come back without the City Dead rules applying though. I don't think City Death happens very often though so it's not really something you should worry about.

It's all so strange. But that means dangerous things happen often here, but there's no real mortal danger most of the time?
