since the day you were born.

Last night we watched "Turn Left," and almost a year later, I still wish that my cracktastic theory about Donna, the Doctor, and Rose had turned out to be true. The plotholes are so gigantic and glaring otherwise. Sure, fandom would've imploded if I had been right, but that would've been a small price to pay for a twist that would've fit so damn ( Read more... )

I just assume that the 'from the day you were born' thing had to do with Dalek Caan. I figured the crazy little blob had access to all space and time so he was able to mark Donna somehow when she was born since he'd been looking for her to be the DoctorDonna at some future time. It gets all wibbley wobbley timey wimey so it's best not to think about it too much or my brain will explode. Not unlike Donna's. ;)

I love you to bits, but I'm very grateful that your theory didn't come to pass since the ensuing wank from too many quarters would have just made the whole thing unbearable. It IS a good theory though.

It always felt like a personal moment to me, like Rose was trying to reassure Donna that's she's special. The way she says it, her word choice -- it just feels like she knew this prior to meeting Donna in the wrong!verse. Plus it feels, I dunno, very motherly, kinda like how the Doctor's "yes you are, you're brilliant" sounds VERY fatherly. Also, Dalek Caan's influence on events doesn't explain Donna being monitored since the very day she was born. I mean, who did the monitoring and why? If she were a half-human/half-Time Lord baby, I definitely could see the monitoring taking place immediately, esp. since her mum works for Torchwood. But if she were just an "ordinary" human child, why would she have been monitored by anyone? How would've that "red flag" come to anyone's attention? It can't be too obvious, 'cause the Doctor himself never picked up on it ( ... )

Well, I won't say "never" ('cause that always gets me in trouble), but I won't say "yes" either. I'll say "we'll see" instead.
